Tavistock Wheelers is a friendly road cycling club formed in 1990. We welcome cyclists of all ages and abilities, and we have a strong contingent of female riders.
Our members come from all over West Devon and North and East Cornwall and our club rides take place on Thursday and Sunday mornings, on some of the most idyllic lanes in the country. For more details of these rides click here.
In addition, we’re a British Cycling “Go Ride” club, which means we’re approved to provide training sessions for young riders between the ages of nine and fourteen, in a safe, off-road environment. Our Go Ride, for junior members, has been awarded the Club Mark by British Cycling. This recognises, amongst other criteria, that our Go Ride prioritises the welfare of the children and young people that participate in the Go Ride. More information on our Go Ride sessions can be found here.
TWCC actively supports members who want to race, our members have raced at a number of regional events and we’ve had some great successes in recent years. All of our members have the opportunity to participate in our organised time trials, hill climbs and cyclo-cross events.
Many of our members also take part in sportives and Audax rides across the country and we also organise various trips abroad for those who like to venture farther afield!
We are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials and we encourage members to help with marshalling and time-keeping.
